HARM REDUCTION

Untitled design (4).png

Before You
Start

Before getting involved in chemsex, it’s a good idea to plan ahead. Decide what drugs you’re going to take, how much you’ll use, and how long you want the session to last. Set personal boundaries in advance around sex, consent, and drug use, and try to stick to them. It’s also safer to use with people you trust—being around those who respect your choices and check in with you can make a big difference.

Safer Drug Use

If you're using drugs, always start with a small amount—especially if it's your first time or it's a new batch. Give the drugs time to kick in before taking more, as dosing too quickly can be dangerous. Try not to mix too many substances at once, especially things like GHB/GBL, crystal meth, alcohol, or benzodiazepines, since combinations can increase the risk of overdose. If you're using G, make sure to measure it carefully using a syringe (usually 1ml or less), and never guess or use bottle caps to measure.

Safer Sex

Using condoms and plenty of lube helps protect against HIV and STIs, especially during longer or rougher sex sessions. If you’re HIV-negative, you might consider taking PrEP to protect yourself, or PEP if you think you’ve been exposed recently. Regular testing for HIV, STIs, and hepatitis C is also a good way to stay on top of your health—many places offer testing that’s quick, confidential, and judgment-free.
